SUBJECT:
Why the WEC cannot associate with the Access Point after
enabling MAC Access Control of AP configuration?
QUESTION:
Why the WEC cannot associate with the Access Point after
enabling MAC Access Control of AP configuration?
ANSWER:
NWH2210 WEC is *transparent* to the client side (your
PC) and the wireless side (your AP), it just forwards
the packets converting to and from Ethernet to wireless.
The WEC will learn the MAC address of the client in order
to wrap the Ethernet frame in a wireless frame correctly
and then send the frame with the client's MAC address
to the wireless side.
While your AP enables MAC filtering (MAC access control)
function, you must add *the client's MAC address* in the
list, not WEC's.
