IBM ThinkPad X20 seems hung/frozen (more than 2 minutes on the black screen stage)

QUESTION:

I installed your NWH610 11M NDC wireless PC card under Windows 98 (SE) on my IBM ThinkPad X20.  There is no problem while installing the driver/utilities. When I reboot the notebook it seems hung/frozen.  Could you tell me how to deal with this problem?

ANSWER:

The IBM ThinkPad X20, and some other notebooks, need more time to get/set the TCP/IP parameters for its wired/wireless NIC.  Please be patient and wait (3-5 minutes) for the machine to boot.  After booting, the NWH610 11M NDC wireless PC card will operate normally.
