SUBJECT:

NDC 2M wireless Ethernet adapter cannot be reinstalled in
Windows XP system.

QUESTION :

After installing my NDC 2M wireless Ethernet adapter in Windows
XP system, it cannot work noramlly. I tried to reinstall it, but it still failed.
How should I do?

ANSWER:

Please using the following steps to reinstall the 2M wireless Ethernet
adapter in Windows XP system:

step 1. Open "Device Manager" of System Properties from Control Panel

step 2. Highlight the NDC PCI/PC card device entry with a '!' sign
before it under Network Adapters item
(Please don't remove the network adapter from the computer right
now)

step 3. Press right-button of mouse and select "Uninstall"

step 4. After uninstalling the device, DO NOT restart system at this moment

step 5. Select "Search" and 'For Files or Folders...' from Start menu to
search for the driver files "Iwndnt.sys" and "Wlport.sys" and then
DELETE it

step 6. Open Windows Explorer and browse "C:\Windows\inf" folder
If you cannot see this folder, please change 'File Option...' from
Tools menu:
- Select 'View' page
- Check "Show hidden files and folders" option and uncheck
"Hide protected operating system files" option

step 7. Search for "oem0.inf" file from C:\Windows\inf folder and check
that its connect is the same as "Netwlan.inf" or not
In Windows XP system, the vendor-supported device driver INF file
will be renamed to "oem?.inf" and be copied to "oem?.pdf". The '?'
will be 0, 1, 2 or other number depended on how many
vendor-supported device drivers you installed

step 8. DELETE "oem?.inf" and "oem?.pnf" files which are the same as the
INFfile (Netwlan.inf)

step 9. Shutdown and restart the computer

step 10. After the system reboot, Windows XP will open 'Found New
Hardware Winzard' again

step 11. Check "Install from a list or specify location (Advanced)" and click
Next

step 12. Check "Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install" and click
Next

step 13. Select "Network Adapters" from the list of 'Common Hardware
Type'

step 14. Press <Have disk> button and press <Browse..> to assign the
pathname of WinXP driver folder

step 15. Select the correct device entry for your 2M wireless Ethernet
adapter and click Next

step 16. Follow on-screen message to finish installation
