SUBJECT:
The NDC WMS utility cannot detect an NDC
Wireless Bridge.
QUESTION:
I cannot discovery my Wireless Bridge (NWH6110) using
WMS utility.
ANSWER:
1. Please make sure the Wireless Bridge (NWH6110) is
powered on and connected to the Ethernet network.
2. Check the IP addresses assigned to the Bridge and
to the WMS terminal PC, which is used to run WMS utility
to discovery the Bridge. They should be in the same subnet
and unique.
For example, if the Bridge's IP address is 192.168.1.5
with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, then the PC's IP
address should be 192.168.1.x with a mask of 255.255.255.0.
3. If you forgot the IP address of the Bridge, please
press Reset button on the real panel of Bridge over 5
seconds to reboot it and load the factory default settings.
The factory default setting of the Bridge is used 'Obtain
an IP address automatically' for its IP address.
4. If there is no DHCP server in your Ethernet network
or the Bridge cannot get an IP address from a DHCP server,
the Bridge will auto-assign an IP address of 169.254.x.x
with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. A Windows OS PC originally
configured as a DHCP client will follow the same algorithm
to assign itself an Auto-IP address in the same subnet.
At this time, please renew the IP settings of your PC
to be the same as the Bridge, otherwise Windows may continue
to use the previous IP address instead of executing the
Auto-IP procedure.
Note: The way to renew the IP settings of Windows OS PC:
(1) Windows 98/ME
Step 1. Click Start/Run, type "winipcfg", and
click <OK>. The IP Configuration dialog box will
open.
Step 2. Select the network adapter you use to connect
