Non-PnP mode installation guide under Windows 2000

NDC NDC NonPnP ISA card Windows 2000 Installation Guide

Note: This installation procedure is not for normal NDC
user, it's only the special case that your PC is poor in the
Plug-n-Play feature and can't recognize the NDC
ISA card automatically.

1. Before you plug the NDC NonPnP ISA card into your
PC, click
Start / Settings / Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager
and then check the resource.
Please reserve a FREE IRQ & I/O Port address for your NDC card.

2. Reboot your PC in DOS and copy all files in the \Dos directory
on the driver CD-ROM to your harddisk. Then run the EUtil.exe
(or JUtil.exe).

3. Set the NDC ISA card to Non-PnP mode ans assign free
IRQ & I/O Port address for it.
Reboot your PC.

4. Under Win2K system, click
Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Hardware
and finish the prompt instruction step by step.

[Choose a Hardware Task ]
Select "Add/Troubleshoot a device" and click Next.

[Choose a Hardware Device]
Select "Add a new device" and click Nexe.

[Find New Hardware]
Select "No, I want to select the hardware from a list" and click Next.

[Hardware Type]
Select "Network adapters" and click Next.

[Select Network Adapter]
Click "Have Disk" tab and enter the path of the driver. (e.g. D:\Win2K)

Here the Win2K system will prompt an alarm message said that
"windows could not detect the settings of the device. To use this device,
you must enter its hardware settings. ..."
You must enter the FREE IRQ & I/O Port that you assigned to the card
in step 1 & step 2.

4. Then the Win2K system will ask you to reboot the system.
DO NOT reboot it now, please install the NDC Utility first.
Just run the Setup.exe in the \utility directory of your Driver CD.

5. After installed the NDC Utility, REBOOT your Win2K system.
In the first time you start your Win2K system with NDC, you have to use
the NDC Utility to set the Network Type, ESSID, and Carrier Set.

6. Restart your system after you have set the correct Network Type, ESSID, and
Carrier Set.
